Arrive Paro International Airport. Receive by Rainbow representative. Check in at Hotel. After tea and snacks visit the National Museum (Ta-Dzong). Once the watch tower for the Rinpung Dzong, it was converted into the National Museum in 1968. The museum stands on a promontory overlooking the Paro valley in all its glory. Visit the Rinpung Dzong situated just below the National Museum Watch Tower. Built in 1645, this massive building now houses the District Administration Office and the Monk Body.

Evening: visit Paro town.

Overnight: Hotel.

• Morning: Hike to Taktsang Monastery. The name Taktsang means “Tiger’s Nest”. The monastery is perched on a rocky ledge with a sheer drop of nearly 800 m. It is said that in the second half of the 8th century, Guru Padma Sambhava, the second Buddha, alighted here upon the back of a tigress.
• Picnic Lunch at Taktsang cafeteria. The round trip hike takes about 3hrs. After you descend from Taktshang, visit Kychu Lhakhang (temple). This is one of the oldest and most sacred shrines of Bhutan. The inner temple was built by a Buddhist Tibetan King, Srongtsen Goempo in the 7th century.
• Evening:Visit a farm house and enjoy local hospitality

Overnight: Hotel.

Paro- Shana – 17 Kms, 5-6 hours. Trek begins with gradual climb along the Paro River through the cultivated valleys/villages.

Camp Site is opposite side of the Army Check Post. Altitude 2800 m.

Shana – Thangthangkha ( 21km. 6-7hrs.) Gradual ascent following Paro River through conifer and rhododendron forests. The campsite is in a flat meadow surrounded by conifer and birch forest.

Alt. of campsite 3860m. On a clear day jumolhari Mountain.

Thangthangkha – Jangothang. (19 km 5 hrs.) gradual Climb. The trial passes through yak herders village.

Alt. of campsite is 4040 m.

Jangothang Halt. This is base camp get up early in the morning to view Jumolhari Mountain. Trout fishing is also possible at lake Tsophu.

Jangothang to Lingshi is about a 7 to 8 hour journey through wide yak pastures and 2 high passes, as we trek into isolation. As one comes down into the Lingshi basin, you get a wonderful view of Lingshi Dzong, We will visit the dzong. Tserim Kang, at 6747 m. and its glaciers rise up at the north end of the valley. Watch for blue sheep and musk deer as you trek in the afternoon shadow of the High Himalayas.

Night halt is a choice between a stone hut and the tent at altitude 4363 m.

Lingshi to Shodu trek is approximately an 8 hour journey. Climb the trail up to the Yalila Pass at an altitude of4790 m. You will cross two more passes on your JumolhariTrek, Ne Le La will be your reward at 4909 m. –  the highest point of the trek. From the pass, on a clear day, you get an excellent view of Jumolhari, Tserim Gang and Masagang. Chortens dot the path along our way. The trek from the pass to campsite at Shodu is steep down hill.

Shodu to Barshong distance is 7 to 8 hours. The trail follows the Thim Chhu river through thick and lush rhododendron forests. Waterfalls can be seen along the way. The valley narrows till the path takes to the slopes and gradually ascends to reach the ruins of Barshong Dzong. Watch for Langurs (Monkeys) along the way. Camp can made in stone shelter or tent 3762 m.

After lunch visit takin reserve (national animal) Relax and do some shopping, explore Thimphu town

Overnight: Hotel.

• Visit the Textile and Folk heritage Museums, the Arst and Crafts Centre, Memorial Chorten (stupa built in memory of the third king), the National Library where ancient manuscripts are preserved.
• Evening: Transfer to Paro.

Dinner and overnight: Hotel.

After breakfast, transfer to airport for departure.
